Time: Thur., 12.45 – 14.45
Location: HIL E7

Since the 19th century travelling became increasingly popular, therefore lodging establishments gained attention. Important parameters of the emerging hotel architecture were demands of comfort, international exchange and recreation.
A variety of different lodging types will be thoroughly analysed, starting from basic hostels through to luxury hotels in metropoles, ski- and sporthotels in the alps as well as resort hotels, center parks and holiday resorts. In focus will be the change in society from elite culture to mass attraction.
